The Re-Purpose

Ages from 45 to 55!

The last four innings are packed with intensity for all the players in the Game of Life.

Unbeknownst to the population, we have been hardwired by evolution to take on the ultimate mission in the first half of an average lifespan – built a family and procreated.

The mission is – in most cases are non-negotiable – participating in the creation of the most precious commodity on the planet and possibly in the Universe – life.

Before we move on to the next mission, below are the typical player’s stats across the first five innings.

It is interesting to notice that the player’s game is at its best when the stats are peaked in – financial security, relationship stability, exuberant in vitality and the compassionate sense of humanity.

The best of life came at The Beginning when most of us are living under the security and comfort of mom and dad. The pinnacle of life came again when we secured a stable income source, found the perfect mate and celebrated the elation with the births of our very own children in The Family inning.

At Puberty and Midlife, we were struggled with enormous hormonal changes so much that many of us failed in keeping up with the game momentum in the external world. Between the two innings, Puberty had the upper hand due to the fact that Evolution has always favored the youths.

Puberty was confusing for most of us, but it was steaming with so much life force that being poor was not going to prevent us from engaging a new day with the renew optimism – in total oblivion to all the fundamentals of reality. In contrast, Midlife Crisis is laced with pessimism resulted from participating in the real Game of Life. Depending on your specific game’s stats and the magnitude of the hormonal changes, your lens of the external world going forward will be shaded with a tint of skepticism – this is the view we attributed as experiences.

Emerging from Midlife Crisis is the Re-Purpose inning. When the dust has settled and once the participant in the Game of Life had regained the appropriate composure – the average player game’s stats are as shown in figure 1 above.

One in two marriages is ended up in divorce at the end of the Midlife Crisis inning. Another 30 of 40 percentages of marriages stuck a stalemate arrangement – if you don’t bother me I won’t bother you relationship.

A divorce can shatter the financial security both partners had meticulously worked to secured over the years. In the non-separation cases, the partners stayed in the strained marriage not for the love for each other, but for the sake of financial preservation.

Financial constraint, relationship uncertainty and greater sense of mortality give rise to the heuristic search for the meaning of one’s existence, one’s life purpose – hence, the second mission.

Below is the instruction for the next mission.

Unfortunately, the instruction for the next mission in the Game of Life is not straight forward as in the first assignment – which had hardwired into our biology – nevertheless, the enigma is discoverable with the proper life framework.

Why is there an existence of the second mission?

Since the 17th century, the global lifespan had been exponentially increased one hundred percents to the low 70s. Most of you will not die after the procreation mission immediately after the 4th inning in the Game of Life – the average life expectancy in the 17th century was approximately 35 to 40 years of age.

The second mission is real and it is the direct result of the increase in quality and longevity for the entire of the human species.

In just two and half centuries ago, less than one percent of the population had the required wealth to garner the necessary food, shelter and safety to live beyond the procreation time frame.

Once the optimal window of procreation has passed, biologically, we are wired to wind down. The second mission is the answer to “what is life purpose?” in the second half of an average life expectancy.

The doubling of longevity is an eternal of time without a meaningful mission.

In the Game of Life, there are four categories of participants –

  1. The Game Changers
  2. The A-Players
  3. The Players
  4. The Spectators

The Spectators and the Players is the mass and are positioned in the lower pecking order of the game. In most cases, they will check out the game at the earliest – the resources are re-allocated to the upcoming new generation of participants.

Life satisfaction and longevity are only rewarded to the participants in accordance to the how she or he played the game.

It should be apparent to most of you which type of participant passionately played the Game of Life and is most fulfilled across the nine innings.

It is a global fact most people are living longer and better, but the quality their life declined soon after the first half of the game. It is the absence in knowing of what to do with so much time and resource succeeded from our collective ingenuity as a species.

It is interesting to notice that with Artificial Intelligence researches and developments are slowly finding practical applications that essentially displacing jobs traditionally held by humans. There are concerns being discuss that AI will unintentionally create a new class of human being – the useless class.

We are having “the useless class” in two and half centuries when the explosion world industrial revolution created the sizeable group that lived much longer than the procreation window – the term we have been using is “the retirees”.

We shared the commonality with the animal relatives with respect to the hardwired procreation mission. It is the second half of life and what we will do with it that defines us as one of a kind.

The Re-Purpose inning – essentially is the self-discovery mission for the second part in the Game of Life. Here at 1DesignerLife.com, we are laying down the framework that enables anyone to make his or her own unique discovery.

Once the responsibility of the family has been fulfilled, the second half of life is the ideal opportunity to express the inner expression that is unique about you. It is time for you to live and contribute to world in accordance to your individual tune.

You are holding the key to the locker with the second mission.

In the Game of Life, the Game Changers and many of the A-Players understood the entirety of the rules of the engagement right at the beginning of the game – they executed the Procreation in the first half and then embraced the passionate Creativity in the second half that spanned across the nine innings of the game.

You and I have the same opportunity – go for it!
